Church Groups

Home Group

Home Groups are an opportunity for church members to meet in small groups to look at the Bible together, get to know each other well, pray and enjoy a cup of tea and an occasional meal together.

The St Columba's group meets fortnightly, usually on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month between 8 and 9:30pm.

The Group takes a summer break during July and August

See the Parish Diary for details of our next meeting and location.

Mothers' Union

The Mothers’ Union is a worldwide Christian organisation and is part of the Anglican Church. Contrary to our title men are also welcome!

St Columba’s has an active Mothers Union branch. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 8pm in the Upper Room at church.

We generally have a speaker usually on a Christian theme and fellowship over a cup of tea.

If a particular meeting appeals to you, you are most welcome to join us on an occasional basis. The activity for the evening is always in the Parish Diary.

Church Choir

St. Columba's has always had a strong musical tradition. We have a small four-part choir that supports the worship every Sunday at the morning service. Parts of the Communion Service are set to music and we alternate the settings.

Apart from a large range of hymns and songs, our repertoire also includes anthems and carols that we sing at special times of the year such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas.

The choir meets to rehearse on a Wednesday evening between 6.30 and 7.30pm (not every week - please see the parish diary for dates), and again on a Sunday morning at 9.30am before the service.  So, if you can hold a musical line, either the melody or the harmony, then why don’t you come and join us?  There’s no audition and you don’t even have to be able to read music.
